Committed



Fitness is a struggle for me personally. During a session of reflection, the word committed came to mine and went for a few rounds before settling into a mental 'to get back to later' file. Sure I know what committed means but why am I not applying it to my own life's 'in need of repair' areas? I decided to review its definition and the meaning that resonated with me the most was as follows: loyal and willing to give your time and energy to something that you believe in. Another round of questioning began. Why weren't I willing to give my time and energy to reestablishing and maintaining physical fitness? Why wasn't I loyal to my own well being? Did I not believe that I should care about or for myself? There it was, my stinking thinking was again at the root of my inability to progress. My beliefs about becoming physically fit were in conflict with my desire to once again tackle the challenge of taking back my health. What beliefs are holding you back from achieving you goals?
