Planning

Updated: Apr 26, 2021

This fall, my daughter Miriam and I purchased planners for the upcoming school year or at least I presumed that's why she bought hers. For me, well... I thought it was pretty. I love penning on appealing designed paper even in calendar format. My second reason was more logical in that subconsciously I know that setting goals and creating action steps to carry out those goals are vital to accomplishing desires. After all, isn't that what planners are truly for?

Living the life you desire comes from planning. Deciding on how you want to live it requires making decisions, establishing goals, and then acting them out in your everyday life. Sounds simple right? Yet, this takes major commitment to what you believe and being strategic to see it through.

As I listened to Brooke Castillo this evening discussing the power of planning, I found myself being distracted by my own thoughts in response to the information she was sharing. Do I believe that I have control over my life and what happens in it? Why wouldn't I believe that? Why would I contemplate that thought? I thought I had settled this in my mind once before and yet, past instances of circumstances whisked around in my head leaving me to wonder. What in my life am I responsible for?

By the end of the podcast I had my answer. I am responsible for the decisions I make so I should plan specifically.
