“We need quiet time to examine our lives openly and honestly - spending quiet time alone gives your mind an opportunity to renew itself and create order.”

Such a task...this overcoming concept. Yet, we must find a way, reach deep within our souls, press inward, to our inner power wrapped in our spirit and overcome. When you hear this word, automatically, another word is immediately associated with it. That word is fear. Be it fear of rational danger where...yeah you better move, and move fast - don't think, (or think very quickly) just act to locate safety; or it is the fear of irrational danger, where our actions are being impeded by lack of trust of our ability to make sound decisions.
How do we even get there? They say (they being the scholars of our day) that this is learned behavior. While this is true, I wrestle with why it is something we connect with once we have learned it? Why is it that we don't reject this resolution to be afraid? It straps us in immobility in forward motion. Notice, I said be afraid. Be is a state of existence and in order to change our state of being we have to do something differently.
The first thing we must do is to think differently. The problem, however, with fear is it bypasses the part of our brain where we actually think (you see where I am going with this). So overcoming is the process of overriding a default system for fear. This requires overcoming power and that my friend is inner awareness. To be continued...
